New Work: Configure Education by Bowmer & Kirkland
Established in 1923, Bowmer & Kirkland (B&K) is a privately owned construction group of companies.
B&K have been appointed to deliver a new framework to the Education Funding Agency (EFA) for new schools. They have simplified the design and building process and developed a streamline building design response called ‘Configure Education’.
Developed through a high level of modelling, this design kit aims to deliver a standardised design, with reconfigurable internal room layouts to suit both client and end user requirements.
Now Configure Education has been established on a number of projects, B&K are looking to market it as their unique selling point and required a brand identity.
The modular connectivity of Configure Education is at the core of its potential success. Offshoot researched the materials and structural principals involved in the Configure Education product and developed a logo that demonstrates how the modules connect together and overlap. The typeface complements the angular structures and still ties in with the existing Bowmer & Kirkland language.
Configure Education has already demonstrated early success on the national framework after being selected to deliver six schools in Derby totalling £27m and a further nine schools in the East Midlands with a value of £37m.
We are excited to witness the progress and success of Configure Education and look forward to seeing this implemented throughout EFA developments.
“Following recommendation we approached Offshoot Design to create a logo identity package for Configure Education – our standardised school design kit. Following a review of the market the team at Offshoot were quick to deliver a choice of options and worked closely with us to develop the chosen option until the final logo was agreed. Offshoot were very easy to work with and we are very happy with the end result.”
